Advocate Chiranji Lal Agrawal

BORN AT JAIPUR : 30.01.1906
DIED on : 01.12.1979

Mr. Chiranji Lal Agrawal was a very popular & highly acclaimed Humanist, Educationist, Philanthropist, Freedom Fighter, Doyen of Rajasthan BAR and was a Founder Member of BAR Council of India Trust.

He founded RAJASTHAN EDUCATION TRUST out of his own funds which by now has donated over Rs. 03 Crores (30 Millions Rupees) for Educational, Medical & Legal Activities to benefit needy students & Individuals.

It was he who conceived & created the concept of first National Law University at Bangalore. He founded, nurtured, helped or resuscitate innumerable schools, universities and other intellectual causes.

Being an educationist, he served for many years as:
• Member of Senate – University of Rajasthan (Jaipur) & Jai Narayan Vyas University (Jodhpur).
• President – Mahila Vidyapeeth, Jaipur.
• Member of the Governing Councils of – MGD Girls Public School, St. Xaviers High School, Jaipur.

Mr. Chiranji Lal Agrawal was a well-known luminary in the legal fraternity during 1940 – 1970. He received many honors, rewards & recognition in his legal career serving to the profession as: Chairman BAR Council of Rajasthan, Executive Committee Member – BAR Council of India; Chairman – Legal Education Committee, BAR Council of India & as a Member of First National Law Commission of India with Mr. MC Setalvad in 1958 to name a few here.
